Making a Difference, One Plate at a Time

Fight Food Insecurity in Your Community Today

What is RedCapes?

RedCapes provides a network to individuals interested in giving back with ease of access to events and volunteering, reinforcing philanthropy as a core pillar of each community. Established as a 501(c)(3) public charity in 2025, RedCapes is currently expanding the fight against food insecurity. We currently operate in Bloomington, IN with our first chapter at Indiana University.

How Does RedCapes Help?

RedCapes plans its own initiatives and brings attention to other similar ongoing philanthropic efforts among other charities. We work with established non-profits, student organizations, and foundations to understand the needs of each community we work with and develop exciting ways to inspire engagement in volunteer work. We plan initiatives for students and student organizations on college campuses, providing a network of volunteering opportunities.

What's Our Impact?

Since our first event as an unofficial student organization in 2024, RedCapes has garnered immense amounts of support, and students have been able to make an incredible impact through events and initiatives provided.

  • 1,200 Families Impacted (Received Donations)
  • 11,000 Individual Food & Essential Items Donated
  • $5,000 Raised Towards Events and Donations
  • 32 Student Organizations Engaged
  • 3,400 Philanthropy Hours Generated through Events

As RedCapes continues to expand its impact in Bloomington and on new college campuses, we hope to continue engaging students and making a meaningful difference in the fight against food insecurity.
